How to make air fryer masala fries?
Making masala fries is simple you just need to gather the ingredients from your pantry and you are good to start. There is nothing complicated about this recipe so let’s start.
Ingredients for air fryer masala fries:
- 3 medium russet potatoes
- 3 tablespoons oil
- ¼ teaspoon chaat masala
- 1 teaspoon red chili
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cornflour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Spring onion (for garnish)
Instructions for air fryer masala fries:
First, clean the potatoes well. Peel the potato skin I like to peel them off, you can keep the skin if you like.
- Slice the potatoes into equal sizes with the help of a knife or a mandoline slicer. Make the slices about ¼ inch thick.
- Take a large bowl transfer the sliced potatoes into it and fill it with the water. Let the potatoes sit for about 15-20 minutes.
- After 15-20 minutes drain out the water from the potatoes and rinse the potatoes 3-4 times. This will help to eliminate the excess starch from the potatoes.
- Dry the potato slices using a paper towel or a clean kitchen towel.
- Transfer the dried potatoes into a mixing bowl and add all the spices and mix them well.
- After the spices are well coated add the oil and give it a good mix.
- Preheat your air fryer at 190C/380F for 5 minutes.
- Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook them at 190C/380F for 20 minutes. Toss the air fryer masala fries halfway through the cooking process.
- Remove the masala fries from the air fryer basket and serve them hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
