Air frying banana chips is easy and only needs a handful of ingredients that are already available in your pantry. You just need to assemble them and start making your healthy banana chips recipe.
Ingredients for air fryer banana chips:
- 2 Raw bananas
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil/coconut oil
- 1 ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (divided)
- ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- 1 cup of water for soaking
Instructions for air fryer banana chips:
- Wash and peel the raw bananas and keep them aside. Since the raw bananas are tough to peel, peel them with the help of a knife.
- After that carefully slice the bananas with the help of a slicer for uniform shape and size. You can also use a knife to slice the bananas if you can cut them into a similar shape and size.
- Take a half bowl of cool water to add salt and turmeric. Stir it until the salt gets completely dissolved.
- Place the peeled bananas into the salt and turmeric water for 10 minutes.
- Remove the bananas from the salt and turmeric water. Pat dry the bananas with a clean kitchen towel or paper towel.
- Now take a mixing bow to add oil and ½ teaspoon turmeric. Mix it well.
- Add the banana slices into the mixture and coat them well.
- Preheat your air fryer at 176C/350F for 5 minutes.
- Place the coated bananas in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do it in batches instead of overcrowding the basket. Be careful while putting the banana slices into the basket because it’s hot and you don’t want to burn yourself.
- Cook the air fryer banana chips at 176C/350F for 15-20 minutes. Toss the banana chips halfway through the cooking process for the evenly cooked result. You can add some extra minutes if you like them crispier.
- Remove the air-fried banana chips, and season with some salt and chili flakes according to your liking.
- Serve and enjoy.
