Air fryer lava cake variations:

These air fryer lava cakes can be made in different variations:

Peanut butter lava cake: If you like peanut butter filling in the center instead of chocolate. Add a scoop of peanut butter to the middle of the batter while filling the ramekins and bake them.

Or instead of a chocolate mixture, you can make a peanut butter mixture. Take 2 tablespoons of creamy peanut butter, 1 tablespoon of unsalted softened butter, and 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar.

Cocoa: Instead of using the chocolate chips/chocolate bar you can use cocoa powder while making the cake batter. However, the texture will not be as rich as that made with the chocolate mixture and the lava cake will be on the drier side.

Dark Chocolate lava cake: Instead of using semi-sweet chocolate you can use dark chocolate for change or for a different taste.

Toppings ideas for air fryer lava cakes:

Air fryer lava cake is a delicious dessert recipe itself. Plus adding toppings to it is the cherry on top. You can add your favorite toppings, but here are some of my recommendations you can give it a try:

Ice Cream: Add your favorite ice cream on top of the air fryer lava cake and enjoy it to the fullest. This is the best dessert for summertime, refreshing and delicious.

Fresh Fruits/Berries: You can add some blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries. Or you can also serve this delicious lava cake with fresh fruits such as mango, pineapple, watermelon, etc.

Chocolate Syrup: Pour some chocolate syrup over the cake and it looks rich and tastes delicious.

Whipped Cream and sprinkles: Top with fluffy whipped cream and spread some cake sprinkles. It tastes heavenly and looks pretty too.

Icing Sugar: Dust the air fryer lava cake with icing sugar for decoration purposes. It enhances the taste and the presentation of the air fryer lava cake.

Tips for making air fryer lava cake:

  • Do not forget to preheat your air fryer before baking.
  • To avoid the cake sticking to the ramekin brush it with the melted butter and dut it with the cocoa powder. Or spray with the nonstick spray.
  • You should be very careful while placing the cake batter in the air fryer and while removing the lava cake from an air fryer. Because the air fryer is hot and you don’t want to burn yourself.
  • The good quality chocolate bar will give you the best result.
  • For more lava effect insert a piece of a chocolate cube in between the cake batter of each ramekin.
