Making air fryer brownies is simple and easy. I love making air fryer desserts. Before starting with the air fryer brownies recipe let’s discuss what pans you can use in an air fryer.
Use any oven-safe pan that fits in your air fryer or use 7-inch pans that are handy. However, there are a lot of baking kits available in the market nowadays. You can pick any of those and make your air fryer brownies.
Air fryer brownies from scratch
Ingredients
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¼ cup melted unsalted butter
- 6 tablespoons cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- Salt to taste
- ¼ part of dark chocolate (optional)
- 2 tablespoons butter to make the chocolate mix (optional )
Air fryer brownies instructions
- The first step is to grease your baking pan with butter or place a baking sheet. I’m using an oven-safe pan for the recipe. You can also use any oven-safe pan that fits your air fryer.
- Meanwhile, you’re preparing the batter of air fryer mix preheat your air fryer to 160C/320F for 5 minutes.
- Take a mixing bowl to add all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder and mix them well.
- In another bowl add eggs, oil, sugar, butter, and vanilla extract, and mix.
- After both ingredients are mixed separately. Now add the dry ingredients (flour mix) to the wet batter (egg batter). Stir until they are completely combined. This way the batter gets mixed faster and gives the best result.
- If you want your air fryer brownies to be more chocolatey, add ¼ part of dark chocolate mixed with 2 tablespoons of butter into the batter.
- After the brownie batter is ready transfer it to the baking pan and smooth top.
- Cook in the air fryer at 160C/320F for 15 minutes.
- Check your air fryer brownies by inserting a clean toothpick in the center and if it comes out clean your brownies are done.
- Remove the brownies from the air fryer basket and let them sit for good 10 minutes before slicing.
- Plate and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or any other desired toppings.
Note: You can use unsweetened cocoa powder such as Trader Joe’s or Hershey’s. If you want to use chocolate chips for your brownies go for Trader Joe’s semi-sweet chocolate chips because they’re less expensive and vegan.

- Grease your pan well before you transfer the batter or use parchment paper that hangs over the edge. This allows removing your air fryer brownies easily at the end.
- Cook your air fryer brownies at a low temperature and they end up tasting better.
- To know if your brownies are done insert a clean toothpick in the brownie if it comes out no crumbles attached, they are done.
- Don’t overcook your air fryer brownies this will lead to hardening them.
- Let the brownies sit for 10 minutes and cool before slicing them.
