Tips for making turkey meatloaf in air fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer before you cook meatloaf. This process allows the loaf to cook evenly.
  • Don’t overmix the meat, just mix them until combined.
  • You can check if the meatloaf is done by inserting a meat thermometer. The internal temperature should be 165F.
  • Shape your meatloaf according to the size of the air fryer you’re using. Don’t make it too thick as it takes a longer time to cook.
  • Let the loaf rest for a while before serving to avoid falling apart.

What goes best with a turkey meatloaf air fryer?

I would suggest having your turkey meatloaf with sautéed/air-fried vegetables such as air fryer broccoli, air fryer asparagus, air fryer mushrooms, etc.

You can also have your loaf with creamy mashed potatoes, or pair it up with some fried rice. You can have it with anything you like.

Here are some of the frequently asked questions.

How do you keep turkey meatloaf from falling apart?

To prevent your turkey meatloaf from falling you should use combining agents such as egg and bread crumbs. This will help the meat to stick together while cooking and prevent it from falling.

Another reason for falling meatloaf is overcooking. So, don’t overcook your meatloaf and let it rest after it’s removed from the air fryer basket to prevent it from falling.

How can you tell if meatloaf is done?

The meatloaf gets ready in about an hour according to the thickness. Or you can use the meat thermometer to measure the internal temperature to make sure if it’s done.

The internal temperature should be 165F and your turkey meatloaf in air fryer is done.

Why is my turkey meatloaf mushy?

The reason for mushy turkey meatloaf is using more bread and milk than the ratio of meat.

To fix this problem you can either add more meat or should reduce the bread and milk quantity.

How long should meatloaf rest?

Let your meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before serving.

How long does it take to cook a meatloaf in an air fryer?

Air fryer meatloaf time temp is 30-35 minutes at 180C/350F.

However, the time may vary according to the air fryer brand you use to cook. I used my Philips air fryer to cook and these were the time and temp I cooked at.

If your meatloaf is thick, it can take a long time so you can just manage it accordingly.

Can I make a gluten-free meatloaf?

Yes, you can use gluten-free bread crumbs that are easily available in the market. If you don’t find it, you can use almond flour instead of the bread crumbs to make the loaf gluten-free.

Can I store the air fryer turkey meatloaf?

Yes, you can store it in an air-tight container and keep it in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

How to reheat the leftover turkey meatloaf in air fryer?

You can simply place the leftover turkey meatloaf in the air fryer basket and heat them at 150C/300F for 5-7 minutes.
