To make chicken lollipops you can buy the ready-made lollipops from the market or cut them in the lollipop shape by yourself. But I prefer the ready-made ones because they save a lot of time and energy. Again it depends on your preference.
Ingredients for air fryer chicken lollipop
For the lollipops
- 500gm chicken lollipop
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 ½ teaspoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and Pepper to taste
For the sweet and spicy garlic sauce
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 fresh garlic (finely chopped)
- 2 teaspoons chili flakes
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- 5 tablespoons sweet & spicy tomato ketchup
- 2 tablespoons buffalo sauce
- Salt to taste
Instructions for air fryer chicken lollipops:
- Thoroughly wash the chicken with clean water and pat dry. Place it in a bowl and set it aside.
- Take a small mixing bowl to add all the dry spices together. Mix them well until combined and set aside.
- Now pour the oil and soy sauce over the chicken and mix them well. After that put all the spices you’ve combined earlier over the chicken and mix well.
- Marinate the chicken for at least 20 minutes or overnight if you're making this recipe for the other day.
- After the chicken lollipop is marinated brush/ spray a thin layer of vegetable oil in the air fryer basket. Preheat the air fryer to 200C/400F for 5 minutes.
- Place the chicken lollipops in the air fryer basket in a single layer with the help of a tong. Be extra careful because the basket is hot, don’t burn yourself.
- Cook the air fryer chicken lollipops at 200C/400F for 15 minutes. Flip them halfway through the cooking process. You can add a minute or two if you want crispier lollipops according to your preference.

- Meanwhile, the lollipops are cooking in the air fryer you can start preparing the sauce.
- Heat a small saucepan in medium heat. Pour the oil let it heat for a while and add the chopped garlic.
- When the garlic is halfway frying add sugar and salt. Cook them for a while and at last, add the chili flakes.
- After that add 3-4 tablespoons of water, and let it simmer for a while. Add the sweet & spicy tomato ketchup and buffalo sauce. Simmer for a minute or so.
- Remove the cooked chicken lollipops from the air fryer basket and keep them in a mixing bowl
- Pour the super delicious sauce over the chicken and mix them thoroughly.
- Lastly, garnish the sweet and spicy lollipops with some freshly chopped spring onions.

Note: You can dunk the chicken lollipops into the corn starch tap out the excess and cook. However, I like to mix them along with the chicken while marinating. Because it’ll not give you the floury texture after cooked. Instead, you can brush/spray enough oil over the chicken lollipops after the dunk to avoid the floury texture.
