Air fryer plantain chips are a good alternative to store-bought chips. Light and healthy plantain chips contain essential vitamins and minerals that are healthy.
Wash and peel the raw plantains. After that carefully slice the plantains with the help of a slicer for uniform shape and size.
2 raw plantain
Take a half bowl of cool water to add salt and turmeric. Stir it until the salt gets completely dissolved.
1 ½ teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoon turmeric powder (divided), 1 cup of water for soaking
Place the peeled plantains into the salt and turmeric water for 10 minutes.
Remove the plantains from the salt and turmeric water. Pat dry the plantains with a clean kitchen towel or paper towel.
Now take a mixing bow to add oil and ½ teaspoon turmeric. Mix it well.
2 tablespoons vegetable oil/coconut oil
Add the plantains slices into the mixture and coat them well.
Preheat your air fryer at 176C/350F for 5 minutes.
Place the coated plantains in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cook the air fryer plantain chips at 176C/350F for 15-20 minutes. Toss the plantain chips halfway through the cooking process for the evenly cooked result.
Remove the air-fried plantain chips, and season with some salt and chili flakes according to your liking.
